Social Distancing Guidelines will be required and enforced.
Congratulations to all of you for qualiying for the 2020 Classic. We must all keep the angler’s safety first and foremost. These guidelines are to help insure we are keeping everyone safe.
- If you have been sick with COVID 19 or experienced symptoms leading up to this tournament don’t risk exposure to others stay home. Anyone that has had COVID 19 or experienced symptoms must be medically cleared to be able to participate in the upcoming tournament.
- Nose and Mouth coverings must be worn during morning check in, evening check in and weigh ins. Anglers, Boat Captains, and Tournament Staff are responsible for their own nose and mouth coverings (buff’s are acceptable nose and mouth coverings).
- There will be five holding tanks turned so that there can be two teams per tank and no more than ten teams in the holding tank area at any time.
- The two holding tanks on the release side of the trailer will be separated to ensure adequate distance is provided while waiting to take pictures and release fish.
- Teams will be allowed to set up tents. It will be the responsibility of the respective teams, coaches, and staff to hold all anglers and spectators to the social distancing guidelines. It is vital that we have no large gatherings during the event.
In addition to these guidelines for the participants, we are planning to:
- Reduce the number of boats per flight to 20, checking in every 15 mins
- Clean key floats before and after use
- Call teams to weigh in in groups of 10
- Sterilize mesh weigh in bags between uses before, during, and after the tournament

ANNOUNCEMENT 11.22.19:
The Board of Directors met last night and decided to revise the Angler of the Year and School of the Year points structure for the 2019/20 season due to the weather issues that Group B has experienced, resulting is rescheduling two events. It is always our intention to make decisions that are as inclusive, and student minded as possible. We recognize that rescheduled events can create situations that are beyond anyone’s control and could impact an angler negatively. We want to be as fair as possible.
The points calculations will now be based on the student anglers best three out of four events. Each team will be able to drop one tournament result or miss one tournament. This will be in effect for both groups, A & B, for the Angler of the Year Points and School of the Year Points calculations.
The top team from Group A and the top team from Group B at the end of the regular season will fish head to head during the first two days of the Classic, to determine the Anglers of the Year.
Thank you for supporting our student anglers and continuing to invest in the future of our sport.
